The role will be responsible for maintaining efficient communication and follow-up with third-party insurers and other parties to ensure the recovery of claim payments. The role will also involve meeting recovery targets and keeping recovery records up to date on a regular basis.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Achieve monthly set targets in terms of recovery
  • Reduction of claims either through knock for knock and/or swaps
  • Manage the recovery court cases process
  • Process cheques received within KPI and prepare recovery letters.
  • Manage firms working for recoveries including tracers, investigators etc.
  • Engaging third party insurers with a view to settling matters out of court
  • Ensuring TPPD matters are addressed under knock for knock agreement to avoid escalating costs.
  • Exchanging matters with Third party Insurers
  • Liaising with insureds on the availability of witnesses and their willingness to co-operate
  • Engaging investigators to trace third parties for purposes of recovery
  • Giving instructions to external advocates to file suits where negotiations have failed
  • Liaising with witnesses to attend court on matters in court
  • Attending court to testify on recovery matters in court
  • Updating of recovery records (registers- status of all recovery matters; recovery payments; maintain recovery pipeline tracker; recovery monthly register for matters to be filed and at judgment/ consent/ dv or hearing stage) and providing weekly and monthly reports on the status of recoveries
  • Attending visits with TP Insurers (physical and/or online)
  • Attending quarterly visits (physical and/or online) with our Advocates and maintaining a tracker on meetings
  • Deliver client-centric processes and solutions
  • Daily follow ups with clients and Insurers

 

Qualifications and experience:

  • Insurance or business degree
  • Progress in ACII/IIK
  • 3 years’ experience in a similar role

 

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Good customer service, communication and negotiation skills.
  • Advanced knowledge of Insurance principles and practice
  • Expert knowledge of claims processing
  • Well versed in local legislature that impacts various insurance and policies
  • Seasoned knowledge of industry practice with respect to knock-for-knock agreements
