Job Purpose

Responsible for supporting accurate pricing of group life schemes, onboarding new clients through proper documentation and benefit review, and assisting in the smooth administration of schemes, including member updates, endorsements, and ensuring compliance with underwriting and service standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Issue debits/credit notes and preparation of the costing schedule.
  • Maintain complaints and compliance registers.
  • Prepare member education materials and train clients.
  • Issue Medical letters and medical underwriting.
  • Issue quotations within the Company guidelines.
  • Maintain the quotation register.
  • Process invoices.
  • Perform timely and accurate scheme reconciliation.
  • Observe strict adherence to cash and carry rule and/or Company credit control policy and escalate all exceptions.
  • Communicate renewal terms to clients and/or intermediaries within the set departmental TATs to enhance retention of existing business.
  • Perform accurate and timely premium allocation as per Company set TATs.
  • Build and maintain collaborative, professional relationships with clients and stakeholders.
  • Honour service level agreements with all stakeholders to ensure expectations are effectively managed and met.
  • Participate and contribute to a culture which builds rewarding relationships, facilitates feedback and provides exceptional client service.

Qualifications and experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field.
  • Professional qualifications In Insurance (ACII, IIK) or equivalent, finalised or commenced.
  • Computer Literacy.
  • At least 2 years of experience in Life and Pensions Administration.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Good understanding of Life Insurance laws, practices, and regulatory requirements in Kenya.
  • Excellent communication and people skills.
  • Data Analytical Skills.
  • Ability to complete tasks on time and accurately.
  • Ability to focus and adapt well to changing priorities.
  • Responsible, compliant and ethical.
  • Self-motivated, while able to ask for help, take initiative and escalate.
